I’m hoping to post a review on the E.l.f. High Shine Liquid Lipstick and Wet N Wild Photo Focus Foundation sometime soon, hopefully this week. I really wanted to like the Lipstick, but…yeah. More on I did’t like it later.

Manicure weekly.

Okay, so obviously I can’t manage to keep a schedule with these posts. So I’m just gonna go with manicure weekly from now on and hope I can do it on a weekly basis.

So this week the nail polish I chose was another one from hot topic. The Black Heart Beauty Iridescent nail polish in Blue Iridescent. Creative name huh? Anyway, the brush for this one was just your typical size round brush that coated the nail in three swipes. The smell is nothing different or super strong, just typical nail polish smell. It was completely opaque in two coats. It didn’t dry too fast or too slow. It’s all around your typical nail polish.

Black Heart Beauty Nail Polish-Blue Iridescent 1

What I want to talk about however, the reason I started these posts, is the lasting power. It, unlike the regular pink polish I tried, chipped on day two and by day three all of the polish on the tips of my nails had chipped off. Now at day 6 the picture below is how they look. My poor pointer fingers are only half painted. The other think I want to mention is that this polish is not smooth once it’s on the nails, dry. As you can probably tell from the pictures there is clearly a bumpy texture to it, which I think is because of the glitter in this polish.

Black Heart Beauty Nail Polish-Blue Iridescent 2

All in all, despite the lack of lasting power I’m still drawn to this polish because it’s just a beautiful color. It reminds me of mermaids or the unicorn theme that seems to have picked up and become very popular (for some strange reason), here lately. Any who, hope you all found this review helpful. Have a nice day. 🙂

Black Heart Beauty Nail Polish From Hot Topic-Neon Pink (Nail Polish Tuesday?)

Sorry this nail polish Monday is coming to you on a Tuesday. I had a busy weekend and didn’t get time to pain my nails until Sunday. I wanted to be able to wait two days before posting how well it’s holding up. So on with the post.

This week I was in the mood for neon nail polish so I went for this pink one from hot topic. I found the consistency to be perfect, not too thick and not too thin, and the brush to be the right size for my nails. I could cover one half of my nail in one swipe making it easy to paint my nail efficiently with three easy swipes of the brush. I also didn’t find that it had an overpowering smell.

Left Hand copy

For a five dollar polish that I bought at half price, it’s holding up surprisingly well. Usually neon polishes like this get air bubbles under it and flake off in one big piece, but this one has only chipped a little around the tips of the nails that I use most often. Over all I really like this polish.

Loreal Infallible Pro Matte Gloss-Blushing Ambition

Product Claims/Description: L’Oréal’s Infallible Pro-Matte Gloss is their first high-impact matte gloss that provides high-impact, velvet matte color without the dry-out. The unique Pro-Sculpt applicator allows you to create endless looks from a bold sculpted look to a nude ombre. Benefits: Bold color intensity, lush feel. All day comfort.

The bottle is a hourglass shaped plastic bottle with silver lettering and a matte black top. ~The applicator is tear drop shaped with a hole in the center. ~The bottle is 4in. tall and has a 3/4th x 3/4th in. square base .~The cap screws on and clicks closed so it won’t come open easily. ~I’ve had this gloss for a while not and it hasn’t broken. ~It contains .2 fl. Oz. (6.3 ml.) of gloss.

Loreal Infallible Pro Matte Gloss 7

~Has a sweet, tangy smell that reminds me of sweet tarts. It’s not strong and doesn’t linger. ~Feels soft and creamy. ~Despite its smell it has no taste. ~The creaminess lasted two hours during which I ate. The color itself lasted four hours before a touch up was needed, but I wasn’t able to touch it up because I was out of the house and forgot to bring the gloss with me. ~It is matte as the name suggests. ~It’s not sticky. ~I didn’t find it to be drying. ~As it wore off it left a stain-like pigment behind. ~It transfers as most glosses do. ~I find that is sinks into fine lines on the lips, but not in a bad way. (If that makes sense). ~I agree with all of it’s claims. ~There are 10 shades available as of 3-23-17.

Loreal Infallible Pro Matte Gloss 6

—Over all—
This is one of my favorite lip glosses. It’s comfortably matte and the perfect shade of dusty pink, in my opinion. I find that this shade is complementary of my light green eyes. So for that reason I recommend this to anyone looking for a matte pink to complement light eyes or to someone just looking for a comfortable matte lippie, or anyone really. I will buy this again in the future.

Pros: Matte, Comfortable, Cheap, Long Lasting.
Cons: Transfers, has a scent, settles into fine lines.

Manicure Monday

Nail polish Saturday hasn’t been posted in a while because I have been giving my nails a break, but now it’s back and on a new day. The post’s are going to be a little different now. I’m going to paint my nails on Saturday’s and snap a picture then wait a few days and post how well the polish had held up from when I paint them on Saturday to when I snap the picture on Monday.

So with that said, on to the polish of the week, Sensational Color Gel Polish in Ocean Sparkle. This is obviously not a normal nail polish. It is a gel polish that needs to be cured with an led lamp. We’re coming to the end of day two of this polish and it still hasn’t chipped. I love it. While I don’t think this is going to last two weeks as it claims to, I do think it might at least last a week, which is saying something for me.

I’m still a little new to gel polishes, but so far it’s lasted longer on my nails that any other polish has. If you have any questions about this polish feel free to ask.

I like this palette. While the quality isn’t great, it’s still a good everyday smoky eye shadow. I would recommend that you give the other shades of this palette a try. Once this one is used up I probably won’t buy this again.

E.L.F. Long Lasting Lustrous Eyeshadows 2
Top to Bottom: Celebration, Toast, Gala.

—Over All—
I like these, but I don’t love them because as a standalone shadow these just aren’t pigmented enough. I only use them to add shimmer, but if and easy to use glitter is what you’re looking for than these are for you.

Pros: Soft, Buttery, easy to use.
Cons: Not pigmented enough.

E.l.f. Mineral Lipstick-Ripe Rose

Product Claims and Description: Now you can hydrate your lips and get a lasting soft color naturally! This nourishing blend of exotic oils, natural waxes, vitamins and plant extracts create the perfect moisturizing formula. The sleek lipstick has superior color payoff, glides easily onto lips, and is long wearing. Lips stay perfectly hydrated and soft throughout the day for no fuss, lip loving happiness. All our mineral makeup are mineral-based with no parabens, no preservatives and no chemical dyes. How to use: Apply to lips with a lip defining brush and blend in the color for lip hydration. Re-apply as often as desired.

The packaging is good and sturdy, like most elf studio packaging is, and hasn’t broken on me. The lid snaps on tightly, no need to worry about it falling off, but at the same time it’s not hard to remove the lid. The tube is matte black like most of E.l.f.’s studio line. It contains .13oz of lipstick, which is good for $5. I didn’t pay that much for it because I received it in a beauty bundle from E.l.f. Elf claims that this is a long wearing lipstick, but I disagree. It lasts until you eat something afterwards you will need to retouch. I own two colors, both of which have been discontinued, but one shade called Nicely Nude is still available on the elf website as of 3/9/17, but I have not tried that one.

This lipstick is smooth and hydrating, stays where you put it and has good pigmentation. The only complaint that I have is that it can be a tad patchy if your lips are a little dry. I like the formula. It has no taste, but if you find smells off putting then you might not like this one because it smells like crayons. It is not strong and cannot be smelled once it’s applied on the lips.I would recommend this lipstick to anyone.

Pros-Hydrating as it claims to be, smooth and doesn’t bleed off of lips.
Cons-patchy, smell of crayons. Four out of five stars.

E.l.f. Cosmetics Volumizing and Defining Mascara

Procuct Claims and Descriptions: This mascara creates voluptuous lashes that are full and defined. The vitamin B&E enriched formula conditions lashes, and the silicone brush effortlessly combs through lashes, coating them evenly for a rich finish. How to use: Start at the base of your lashes and wiggle the mascara brush upwards from root to tip to coat lashes. Apply a protective top coat of clear gel for instant waterproofing.

E.l.f. Essentials Volumizing & Defining Mascara-Jet Black

This is a good mascara, but it isn’t my favorite by any means. It’s okay if you just intend on wearing it for an hour or so, but any longer than that it will start to flake off.

E.l.f. Essentials Volumizing & Defining Mascara-Jet Black 2

The brush is one of those with short bristles that are meant to really define the lashes. I love these kind of brushes and that is a plus for this mascara. It is just the formula that is a little disappointing. It is liquid-y and too much of it sticks to the brush. in order to apply it to lashes without super big clumps it to wipe off half of the product and that, in my opinion is a waste.

E.l.f. Essentials Volumizing & Defining Mascara-Jet Black 3

over all I give this elf product a 3 out of 5.

E.l.f. Cosmetics Essential Eye Primer

Product claims and description: Preps your eyelid for smoother, longer-lasting and crease-proof eyeshadow. The lightweight liquid formula quickly absorbs into the skin for comfortable wear and increases eye color longevity. How to Use: Apply a thin coat of the e.l.f. Cosmetics shadow lock and eyelid primer to the eyelid and blend in using a blending brush. Allow the formula to dry before applying eyeshadow.

This primer is nothing amazing, but that doesn’t mean that it isn’t worth its two dollar price tag. Most primers that I have seen claim to 1-Prep the eyelid so as to have a smoother canvas for eye shadow’s, 2-Even out skin tone and cover any vanes that may be on the eyelid, 3-Intensify colors and make them more vibrant and 4-Prevent creasing and smudging. While this primer does not even out skin tone or intensify the color of eye shadows it does keep them from creasing and give a smooth canvas for you to work with. I don’t know about other people, but for me the reason I needed a eye shadow it to keep the eye shadows from creasing. So for two dollars doing two out of four claims isn’t that bad. Besides the description of the product only claimed to keep eyeshaows from creasing and make them long lasting, which it totally does. I also love the doe foot applicator. Some may consider it unhygienic, but it don’t bother me.

Sheer is, as the name suggests, a sheer beige that almost fades away as you blend it in. It does nothing to cover up any imperfections that may be on your eyelids.

Pearl is just white with glitters. If you do not like glitter or sparkly, I wouldn’t suggest this color. It will make any matt shade that you apply over it have sparkle.

All in all I give this product a four out of five because pearl came come off a bit chalky looking at times.
